For its range of phones, Vivo has revealed open beta release timelines for OriginOS and has confirmed that the new skin will first debut on an upcoming ‘X series’ handset. This is probably the Vivo X60 range, considering that it has recently leaked on several occasions. The Vivo X50 Pro series, Vivo Nex 3S, Vivo S7, and iOoo range are the first batch of phones to get the open beta update in China. Before January 21, 2021, these phones will get the OriginOS open beta update. To get OriginOS before February 2021, a host of other Vivo phones are also mentioned and these include Vivo Nex 3, Vivo X30 series, and more.
Soon after it was unveiled, the company took to Weibo to reveal the roadmap for the open beta of OriginOS. The roadmap shows that prior to January 21, 2021, the Vivo Nex 3S, Vivo X50 Pro+, Vivo X50 Pro, Vivo X50, Vivo S7, iQoo 5 Pro, iQoo 5, iQoo 3, iQoo Pro, iQoo, and iQoo Neo 3 will receive the latest OriginOS open beta.
The latest OriginOS open beta update will be available for the Vivo Nex 3, Vivo Nex 3 5G, Vivo X30, Vivo X30 Pro, iQoo Neo, and iQoo Neo 855 phones before the Chinese New Year in February 2021. Before the open beta rollout, the latest software will debut in the new Vivo X series, and this phone is expected to be the Vivo X60. Recently, the phone was seen in several leaks, hinting at an upcoming launch.
Vivo says that Vivo X27 Pro, Vivo X27, Vivo X27 (8GB + 128GB), Vivo S6, Vivo S5, Vivo S1 Pro, Vivo S1, Vivo Z6, Vivo Z5x, Vivo Z5i, Vivo Z5, iQoo Z1x, iQoo Z1, Vivo Nex dual screen, Vivo Nex S, and Vivo Nex will be deployed in the OriginOS open beta update sometime in Q2 2020.
The roadmap for the OriginOS rollout, as stated, is intended only for the Chinese market. The organization has yet to disclose global rollout information. OriginOS claims to be quicker than its predecessor and smoother. New animations, faster app load times and new wallpapers are also said to carry new animations that mimic the weather outside.
