The Redmi K40 series will have more than one smartphone version powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC, which has been tipped by a Xiaomi executive. Redmi Product Director Wang Teng Thomas shared the production with Weibo but without specifically naming the Redmi K40 series. The company has tapped the Redmi K40 to launch the Snapdragon 888 SoC in February. The phone could come alongside another phone from the Redmi K40 series that is powered by the same SoC. The exact date has not yet been announced for the launch of the Redmi K40 series.
In a reaction to Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing’s post on Weibo, Redmi Product Director Wang Teng Thomas said there is more than one phone that comes with the Snapdragon 888 SoC. The original post by Weibing did not share any details about the upcoming series, but came with the hashtag ‘K40,’ which means that Thomas was also talking about a phone from the Redmi K40 series. On the Redmi K40 sequence, none of the posts say anything else.Weibing reported last week that the Snapdragon 888 SoC will be operated by the Redmi K40 and that it will be published next month. It was also revealed that the phone would start at CNY 2,999 (approximately Rs. 34,000), making it one of the most affordable 888-powered Snapdragon phones.
