India had been the debut country earlier this year for Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. But having Redmi 9 will be one of the last regions, as Xiaomi India has finally revealed its launch date to be August 4th. The handset will be available exclusively for Amazon during the annual Prime Day sale (August 6-7).
For every feature, Xiaomi or rather Redmi India teases the Redmi 9 with the word “Prime.” The firm also uses # BackToPrime, which suggests retailing the handset as Redmi 9 Prime in the region. To those unaware, the last Xiaomi phone with such branding from 2016 was Redmi 4 Prime but it wasn’t released in India. Nonetheless, this is just a guess and the term “Prime” used in the teaser may mean more selling of “Amazon Prime Day,” and nothing else.
Having said that, Redmi Note 9 in India has recently been released by the company starting at 11,999. And we expect the forthcoming Redmi 9 to be retailing at a lower price than that. The 4 GB + 64 GB version in sense costs CNY 799 ($114) in China, and RM 599 ($141) in Malaysia.
The handset ‘s highlights include MediaTek Helio G80, quad-camera setup, FHD+ display, and a 5.020 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
