Today Vivo’s iQOO sub-brand announced the name and launch date of its upcoming smartphone, the Z1. It will be the first phone to debut with the recently announced MediaTek Dimension 1000 + and, as the Digital Chat Station speculates, iQOO Z1 is indeed launching in China on May 19, according to the Weibo post from the company. The platform will support 5G, and it will be the company’s first gaming smartphone to sport a MediaTek chipset.
The teaser has not disclosed any details about the upcoming unit, but reports indicate support for quick 44W out-of-the-box charging. Furthermore Vivo has confirmed via its official website that the iQOO Z1 will have a single hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera.
Like the recently released iQOO Neo 3, iQOO Z1 is rumored to feature a 6.57 inch 144Hz higher refresh rate display with 60, 90, 120, and 144Hz switching options. We expect the screen to be LCD (because it will be an inexpensive 5 G smartphone) and to incorporate the fingerprint scanner into the power button. Alleged live phone photos circulated across the internet, too.
In China, iQOO has already commenced pre-registration for Z1. Since iQOO Z was branded a while back in India, we can now expect the smartphone to launch here soon.
